What is Body Shaping?

If you’ve searched Google to find out more about body shaping for women, you’ve probably run into the following methods:

  • Body-shaping garments, like corsets.
  • Body-shaping surgery, like liposuction.
  • Body-shaping workouts.

Obviously, body-shaping garments are temporary, as you lose the illusion as soon as you take them off. And the effects are limited, since a piece of clothing can only do so much.

Many people opt for surgery, but there are serious problems with this option as well. Not only is it expensive, but you put yourself at serious risk for infection, organ punctures, bleeding, swelling, pain and other problems and complications. Worse yet, it might not even work, especially if you’re trying to get rid of cellulite.

So that leaves the last option: body-shaping workouts.

Indeed, this is a natural, safe and effective way to shape your body. When you combine a good cardio program to shed the fat, resistance training to shape the muscle, and a nutritious diet to support both of those goals, then you’ll get the results you’ve been seeking.

When I talk about resistance training (or bodyweight training), I am indeed referring to you lifting weights. But this isn’t strength training. It’s not about getting big, bulky muscles. In fact, it’s virtually impossible for that to happen, unless you start taking steroids and devote the next few years to the gym.

Instead, resistance training will give you a streamlined physique, curves in all the right places and sexy, shapely muscle that turns heads. But in order for that to happen, you need to do the following:

  • Set your goals. What do you hope to achieve? In order to create the best body-shaping program for yourself, you need to bridge the gap between where you are today and where you want to be. For example, those who have extra fat to lose may need to do extra cardio (especially HIIT). Meanwhile, those who’re looking to get rid of cellulite will want to focus on lifting and toning the muscles underneath the fatty layer to smooth out the cellulite.
  • Work your total body to get sexy symmetry. This means hitting your major muscle groups by doing a variety of exercises, such as: squats, deadlifts, lunges, rows, shoulder presses, bench presses, curls, pushups, close-grip presses, lat pull downs and similar exercises.
